I'm a normal teenager. I have a normal teenage life with normal teenage problems.
The summer is my heaven. I live with my mom during the summer months. We stay in her tiny condo in Jacksonville, Florida. My parents split up when I was little. I'm not sure why. My mom never talks about it. Whatever it was, it was bad enough to make my mom pack me up in the middle of the night when I was four years old and run to my Gran's condo.
My mom got the condo after Gran died. From that time on all I had known my entire life was beach life.
Until four years ago.
Until my uncle found me.

The Awakening of Leeowyn Blake eBook Mary Parker Reviews
The introduction of this book wasn't spectacular, but the author did a great job with the rest of it, and maybe this was exactly what she planned all along.
In the beginning, Lee is a normal teenager, coping with normal problems, then, gradually, she starts to evolve and uncover little by little the uncommon truth of her destiny. At the same time the story changes into one full of originality and unexpected turns.
Even if she isn't ready for what's out there, she takes her role seriously, without losing a single drop of her charisma, or her teenage sense of humor.
The stakes are very high and you have to play it hard not only for the Earth's destiny but also for all the Realms that are involved. But the author is careful to remove all that stress by introducing some of Lee's funny and sarcastic moments every now and then.
"Don't worry about making the wrong decision; it's just the rest of your life. And the fate of the universe."
"With great power comes great responsibility," I whispered. Cyle looked at me quizzically. "Spider-man," I said. Cyle still looked a bit confused.
Smart and sharp, Lee is capable of standing her ground in front of all the challenges the destiny throws in her face.. and also, she's ready for the relationship starts to take shape.
"Alex was looking at me with his sky blue eyes and flickers of light danced across the surface of his skin, miniature suns illuminating miniatures worlds in the universe that was Alex."
Every second character has a defined purpose. They're all attractive, capable of capturing your heart and have their own history. My favorite is Rodrick, her teacher and her uncle's friend. I'd love to see more of him in the next installment. Another character I like is Bethany. I want her to have a chance.
"I'll be back before you know it." That was the last time anyone saw her. Bethany Blake had always been like that; running toward danger with a laugh and a smile. She never showed fear.
The girl in the window raised her hand. A glowing, white pearl pendant hung around her throat. I think she nodded at me, and smiled. A cloud passed over the moon, bathing and my window in darkness; and she was gone.
I'm totally OK with the author's new twists - I have some personal gessings - regarding the evil (or not so evil?) character. I'm really curious what's expecting him next, because nothing is what it seems.
I also like the changing in nature and the atmosphere in Lee's new home. These aspects are very important in her findings, almost like another character in the story.
When the action starts, all things happen realy smooth but fast, every paragraph hides a new and important information. You have to stay tuned to get them all. And in the end you'll be gasping for more!
"There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosophy, Cyle."
"Rodrick..."
"You didn't see Haven, Cyle. I did." A haunted look clouded Rodrick's eyes as the memories rolled over his soul."
This book was one of the best that I have read in awhile. I knew when I read the summary that I was interested. I had no idea just how much I would end up loving it though.
When we first meet Leeowyn aka Lee, she is a 14 year old girl living with her single mom in Florida. She has never really known her dad because her mom took her and left at a very early age. They never talk about him. Then one day her Uncle Cycle (her dad's brother) shows up and tells her that he wants her to spend the winters at his house with him and her grandmother. While she finds this strange she lives with him during the winter for the next four years.
Every year she knows things are somewhat off and everyone acts strange but she just can't put her finger on it. Then when she is about to turn 18 her boyfriend Alex shows up at her Uncle's and stays there. Lee's best friend Peach and her Uncle are not happy to see Alex. When he tells Lee what is really going on Peach just comes along and erases her memory of anything that he has told her. You see Lee is a very powerful guardian and will become the guardian of the realms when she turns 18. On her 18th birthday is when everything starts getting really interesting and fun. She has no idea that she will soon be the only one that can save the realms from a very powerful evil.
I loved the plot and the characters so much. This was a well written story with so many twists and turns that I couldn't keep up. I read every chance I got and didn't want to put it down when I had to. I loved the ending and the answer that Lee gave. I am truly excited to find out what happens next!
This was a very entertaining book. Mysterious and leading me on for more. I think younger readers would like it a lot, maybe 16 and older. Can't wait for Mary Parker to bring out Book II. There appears to be a great plot not totally revealed but enough hints to keep the reader wanting more.
This book captured my attention from the first page. The characters were 'real" even though they were "supernatural" I recomend it to anyone and hope the author will get busy and finish the next one in the series. I am getting antsy waiting.
